Soila is a 30 year old married woman who only attended primary school for one year. She lives in Guatemala, and has two children, one of whom is studying. She has a general store and started her business selling French fries. She has seven years of experience and now she wishes to open a store with a variety of products. She has the support of her husband, who is a weaver. The loan she is requesting will be invested in the purchase of staple goods for the store that she plans to open. She will buy candies, milk, soda water, spring water, and juice. In the future, she hopes to have a large business with many customers and improve her profits.
Elon Microfinance Initiative assisted Solia with a $25 loan in January 2013.
